Project: Access to Climate Security and Environmental Justice in Gwadar, Balochistan
Reporting To:
Director Program and Partnership
Project Duration: 7 Months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead overall planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, reporting, and quality assurance of the project.
  • Supervise the project team and ensure timely delivery of all project outputs and activities.
  • Coordinate with donor, government departments, community representatives, EHRDs, academia, civil society, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee implementation of Climate-Resilient Social Action Projects (SAPs) and ensure proper documentation of progress, results, challenges, and lessons.
  • Coordinate and support the Gwadar Environmental Protection Forum and Gwadar Informal Working Group.
  • Facilitate government–community engagement and follow-up on climate and environmental grievances and grievance redressal mechanisms.
  • Ensure effective community mobilization and participation of women, youth, fisherfolk, and vulnerable groups.
  • Ensure project implementation is gender-responsive, conflict-sensitive, rights-based, and inclusive.
  • Monitor workplan, indicators, timelines, risks, budget utilization, and deliverables and ensure timely corrective action.
  • Review and quality-assure technical reports, documentation, success stories, and other project deliverables.
  • Lead preparation of progress reports, learning documentation, close-out event, and final completion report.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Development Studies, Governance, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in community mobilization, local-level development, and engagement with government institutions on governance and citizen–state linkages.
  • Prior professional experience in Balochistan, preferably Gwadar and/or Quetta.
  • Experience in community stabilization, climate resilience, environmental justice, grievance redressal, or human rights will be an advantage.
  • Experience in managing donor/UN/INGO-funded projects and multidisciplinary teams is desirable.
  • Excellent English writing, reporting, communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake regular field travel within Gwadar and to Quetta.
