About LHDP

Laar Humanitarian and Development Programme (LHDP) is a registered national non-governmental organization working across Sindh Province to improve the lives of vulnerable communities through humanitarian assistance and sustainable development interventions. LHDP is currently implementing the WASH & Livelihood Support for Affected People of Sindh project in Taluka Jati, District Sujawal.

Position Summary

The Agriculture & Livelihood Assistant will support the Agriculture & Livelihood Officer in implementing agriculture and livelihood interventions at the field level. The incumbent will assist in community mobilization, beneficiary registration, training activities, distribution of agricultural inputs, data collection, monitoring, and reporting to ensure the timely and effective delivery of project activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of agriculture and livelihood activities in accordance with the project work plan.

  • Support community mobilization and facilitate beneficiary identification, registration, and verification.

  • Assist in organizing and conducting farmer training sessions on climate-smart agriculture, kitchen gardening, sustainable farming practices, and livelihood improvement.

  • Support the planning and distribution of agriculture and livelihood inputs while maintaining accurate records.

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor beneficiary progress and provide basic technical support.

  • Collect field data, maintain beneficiary databases, and ensure proper documentation of project activities.

  • Coordinate with community representatives, local authorities, and relevant government departments at the field level.

  • Prepare field reports, attendance sheets, activity records, and other project documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with LHDP policies, donor requirements, safeguarding principles, and accountability mechanisms.

  • Perform any other project-related tasks assigned by the Agriculture & Livelihood Officer or Project Manager.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree  in Agriculture,   Agricultural Extension.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant field experience in agriculture, livelihoods, or rural development projects with NGOs/INGOs.

  • Experience in community mobilization and implementation of agriculture-related activities is preferred.

  • Basic understanding of climate-smart agriculture and sustainable livelihood approaches will be an advantage.

  • Good communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

  • Fluency in Sindhi and Urdu is essential; basic English language skills are desirable.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the project area.
