       Communication & Liaison Officer

Reporting to or/supervised by 

Reports to the Programme Manager – KP, with technical oversight and coordination from the Senior Communication & Liaison Officer – Head Office.

Purpose 

The Communication & Liaison Officer supports implementation of communication, visibility, liaison, and coordination activities across KP operations in line with organisational priorities and directions from Head Office.

 

The role supports field-level communication and visibility implementation, coordination with field focal persons, collection and management of communication content, liaison support, and communication flow between KP operations and Head Office.

 

The position also provides support to the Senior Communication & Liaison Officer – Head Office in organisational communication, visibility, liaison, and coordination-related activities beyond KP operations, as required.

Key Responsibilities

Communication & Visibility Implementation

  • Support implementation of communication, visibility, and liaison activities across KP operations in line with organisational priorities and approved directions from Head Office.
  • Support preparation of communication materials, field updates, activity highlights, visibility content, and success stories from field operations.
  • Support translation and drafting of communication materials, summaries, updates, and visibility content in English and Urdu, as required.
  • Ensure communication materials and visibility content are aligned with organisational standards, safeguarding considerations, and donor visibility requirements.

Field Coordination & Content Management

  • Coordinate with field focal persons and programme teams regarding collection of activity updates, photographs, beneficiary stories, and visibility materials.
  • Ensure timely sharing of field updates, visibility materials, activity information, and communication content with the Senior Communication & Liaison Officer – Head Office.
  • Support verification, organisation, and proper management of field visibility and communication content prior to submission or publication.
  • Maintain organised records and archives of communication and visibility materials from KP operations.
  • Coordinate with field teams for urgent visibility, communication, or information-sharing requirements during field activities or emergency situations.

Liaison & Coordination Support

  • Support liaison and coordination activities with stakeholders, authorities, partners, and relevant actors, as guided by management.
  • Coordinate communication and visibility support during UNHCR, donor, management, and external stakeholder visits to field locations and facilities.
  • Support communication-related coordination for meetings, consultations, trainings, events, and field activities across KP operations.
  • Coordinate closely with Programme and Operations teams to facilitate communication and visibility support during programme implementation and operational activities.

Social Media & Digital Support

  • Support preparation and sharing of approved communication and visibility content for organisational social media platforms and digital visibility.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Communication & Liaison Officer – Head Office regarding publication of communication materials and updates.
  • Ensure visibility materials comply with organisational and donor visibility requirements prior to sharing or publication.

Documentation, Reporting & Follow-Up

  • Maintain communication trackers, field visibility records, liaison documentation, and follow-up records related to communication and visibility activities.
  • Prepare communication-related updates and reporting inputs, as required.
  • Ensure proper filing, organisation, and maintenance of communication and visibility documentation.

Support to Senior Communication & Liaison Officer – Head Office

  • Provide support to the Senior Communication & Liaison Officer – Head Office in organisational communication, liaison, visibility, reporting, coordination, and documentation-related tasks, as required.
  • Support implementation of communication and visibility directions, campaigns, and organisational initiatives across KP operations and other activities where required.

 

Safeguarding, Confidentiality & Ethical Conduct

  • Ensure all communication and visibility activities are conducted in line with safeguarding, confidentiality, PSEA, and Do No Harm principles.
  • Ensure informed consent, dignity, confidentiality, and protection considerations are respected during collection and sharing of photographs, videos, stories, and visibility materials.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and respectful communication in all engagements.

 

 

Other Duties

  • Perform any other duties related to the position, as reasonably assigned by the Supervisor or relevant Head Office units, in line with organisational policies and operational requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Preferably Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu.
  • Experience in handling field visibility content, activity documentation, stakeholder coordination, and reporting support is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms, communication tools, and donor visibility requirements.
  • Strong organisational, coordination, drafting, and interpersonal skills.
