Since its inception, covered at least 22 districts of Balochistan and has worked to ensure a peaceful and secure environment within communities. The main Goal is to eliminate poverty and violence from society by means of encouraging human rights and civic education culture.

Job Overview/Summary

The FFS Facilitator is responsible for effectively implementing Farmer Field School (FFS) activities at the community level by delivering structured, participatory training sessions that enhance farmers’ knowledge and skills in improved agricultural and livestock practices. The role focuses on mobilizing and engaging farmers, ensuring active participation, and facilitating practical, field-based learning in line with the approved curriculum. The facilitator also ensures proper documentation, reporting, and adherence to project guidelines, while supporting data collection for monitoring and evaluation. Additionally, the role contributes to the successful achievement of project targets by maintaining close coordination with the Master Trainer and project team and promoting the adoption of best practices among farming communities. 

Major Responsibilities

FFS Implementation

  • Conduct regular (FFS) sessions in assigned communities. 

  • Facilitate participatory learning using practical and field-based approaches. 

  • Ensure proper establishment and functioning of FFS learning sites. 

Community Engagement

  • Mobilize farmers and ensure active participation in FFS activities. 

  • Build strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders. 

  • Promote inclusion of women

Technical Facilitation

  • Support farmers in adopting improved livestock management and climate-smart practices. 

  • Apply AESA tools during sessions. 

  • Provide basic technical guidance under supervision of Master Trainer. 

 Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain records of FFS sessions, attendance, and activities. 

  • Collect and report field data accurately and timely. 

 Coordination

  • Work closely with Team Leader and Master Trainer for planning and implementation. 

  • Share regular updates, field challenges, and progress reports. 

Capacity Building Support

  • Participate in Training of Facilitators (ToF) and refresher trainings. 

  • Continuously improve facilitation and technical skills.

  • Other Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements. 

  • Promote participatory approaches and inclusive community engagement. 

  • Participate in training and capacity-building initiatives. 

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.


Job Specification:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (DVM), with Master’s preferred, in Livestock Management, Animal Breeding & Genetics, Food Technology, Natural Resource Management, or related field 

  • Strong knowledge of livestock production systems, climate-smart practices, and livestock value chains 

  • 3+ years’ experience as an FFS facilitator supporting small ruminant farmers in sustainable livestock management, climate adaptation, genetic improvement, fodder production, and safe food production 

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Familiarity with AESA and core FFS tools, including participatory technology development and adaptive trials 

  • Certification in Farmer Field School (FFS) methodology

  • Skills in adult learning, participatory facilitation, and discovery-based learning to promote dialogue and critical thinking 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust, motivate farmers, and engage women, youth, and marginalized groups 

  • Competence in planning, organizing, record-keeping, reporting, and stakeholder coordination 

  • Personal attributes including patience, empathy, adaptability, integrity, and commitment to gender equality and empowerment


Language Skills:  

  • Understanding Level speaking, reading and writing in English Urdu and Pashto
