Position Overview

We are seeking a creative, digitally savvy, and result-oriented professional to join our Communications team as a Communications Officer. The role combines digital marketing, social media management, internal and external communications, graphic design, photography, videography, and website management to strengthen brand visibility and enhance audience engagement across all platforms.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about storytelling through digital media, visual content creation, and organizational communication channels.


Key Responsibilities

1. Digital Marketing & Campaign Support

  • Assist in planning and executing integrated digital marketing campaigns to promote organizational initiatives and brand visibility.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support data-driven marketing strategies.
  • Support email marketing activities, including content creation, template design, segmentation, and performance tracking.
  • Coordinate promotional campaigns, events, and outreach activities to enhance engagement and reach.
  • Monitor campaign performance and prepare periodic reports with insights and recommendations.

2. Social Media Management & Engagement

  • Develop, manage, and maintain monthly content calendars across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, etc.).
  • Create and publish engaging content including posts, stories, reels, and short-form visuals.
  • Actively manage community engagement by responding to comments, messages, and audience interactions in a timely manner.
  • Track, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth, conversions).
  • Collaborate on planning and execution of paid social media campaigns.

3. Internal & External Communications

  • Draft and circulate internal communications including announcements, newsletters, staff updates, and organizational messages.
  • Support development of internal engagement content to strengthen organizational culture and employee communication.
  • Assist in preparing external communication materials such as press releases, reports, success stories, and donor/stakeholder updates.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across all communication channels and alignment with brand tone and voice.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather information for storytelling and communication materials.

4. Creative Design, Photography & Videography

  • Create high-quality digital and print materials including social media creatives, banners, infographics, brochures, and campaign visuals.
  • Design content using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other relevant graphic design tools.
  • Capture professional-quality photographs and videos for organizational events, campaigns, and storytelling purposes.
  • Edit photos and videos using industry-standard photo and video editing tools to produce engaging visual content.
  • Ensure all creative outputs are aligned with brand identity and communication guidelines.
  • Stay updated with design, photography, and videography trends to bring innovative ideas to content creation.

5. Website Management (WordPress)

  • Manage and update the organization’s website using WordPress.
  • Upload and edit content including pages, blogs, images, videos, and campaign updates.
  • Ensure website content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with brand messaging.
  • Coordinate basic website design updates, layout changes, and plugin management (where required).
  • Monitor website performance and coordinate with technical support for any issues or improvements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Design, Film/Media Production, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in digital marketing, social media management, content creation, or communications.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other photo/video editing tools (e.g., Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
  • Proven experience in photography and videography, including shooting and editing content for digital platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with social media platforms and analytics tools.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress CMS for website management and content updates.
  • Strong understanding of internal communications, branding, and external stakeholder communication.
  • Knowledge of SEO, content marketing, and digital campaign strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail and storytelling ability.
