JOB PURPOSE

To facilitate and provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet the needs of focused poor and vulnerable communities as per the organizational mandated role and interventions.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):

 

1. Take lead in the management of pilot project on school meals in Quetta with focus on all field level activities and CP project team.

2. Liaison with relevant internal units and counterparts to ensure programme data gathering is consistent with the defined programme objectives and results framework of the pilot project.

3. Take lead and contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders for the ongoing school meals pilot intervention.

4. Take lead and contribute towards development of timely reports for internal and external use, including project briefs, data reports, and success stories.

5. Take lead and contribute towards identification of local businesses and smallholder farmers that could be linked directly with the school meals interventions.

6. Explore synergistic opportunities for complementarity of interventions with the school meals programme, and facilitate in developing concept notes, workplans and budgetary requirements as per programme design requirements in close coordination with the supervisor.

7. Contribute towards development of project plans of the ongoing school meals pilot interventions and its processes ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance.

8. Contribute towards development of other models and concept notes for school meals interventions including models for rural and far-off areas.

9. Research and analyse policy and operational issues to support senior colleagues in the development of policies, programmes, and activities.

10. Liaise with internal counterparts to ensure effective collaboration on monitoring ongoing pilot project.

11. Support the identification, development, and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working on school-based intervention packages.

 12. Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government to prepare for and respond to food assistance needs, e.g. through project management support of learning initiatives.

13. Provide guidance to support staff, acting as a point of referral and assisting them with analysis and queries.

14. Any other task by supervisor or Head of Provincial Office.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

Education: Advanced University Degree (Master's) in Business, Development Studies, Economics, Project Management or any other relevant Social Science Or first level university degree (Bachelors- in any of the above discipline) with additional 2 years of experience in the relevant field.

 

Experience: Minimum three years of professional/ managerial experience in leading implementation of sizeable programmes, including food distribution programs, education focussed, and school-based programmes. Preferably in an international organization and/or UN system.

  • Has led and managed teams and partner organizations.

  • Has taken roles of stakeholder engagement and coordination.

  • Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.

 

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in the English is must, knowledge of the local languages in the province is preferable.
