Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare a comprehensive implementation strategy for the land resource management component of the project, ensuring it aligns with overall project goals and objectives.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to field teams for the effective implementation of the strategy.
- Conduct assessments and gather relevant data regarding land resource management.
- Identify challenges and opportunities related to land resource management in the project areas.
- Enhance the capacity of field teams by organizing training sessions and continuous learning opportunities related to land resource management.
- Assist in the development of training materials and manuals as needed.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor the progress of land management initiatives such as soil conservation, reforestation, sustainable agriculture, and water resource management.
- Compile progress reports and document lessons learned and best practices.
- Facilitate coordination among project stakeholders i.e. Agriculture, Forrest, Irrigation etc, to ensure the integration of land resource management activities.
- Represent the project in meetings, forums, and workshops related to land resource management.
- Document and disseminate successful practices and lessons learned to inform future programming.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Forest, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in land resource management, sustainable agriculture, or related sectors.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing land management strategies in rural settings.
- Strong understanding of natural resource management, soil conservation, and land use planning.
- Excellent capacity-building and training skills, with experience working with diverse teams.
- Strong report writing, analytical, and communication skills.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
