Key responsibilities
- Review and validate the technical designs and specifications for the Micro Hydro Power Stations, Irrigation and LRM related projects.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets. technical guidelines and provide backstopping assistance to Regional/District teams.
- Project planning, feasibility studies and regulatory approvals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, environmental and construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, organizational and donor policies.
- Provide technical input into the layout of Civil and Electrical infrastructure, installation of Electro-Mechanical machinery like Turbine, Alternator, Transmission lines, Transformers, control systems, diversion weir, intake, connecting channel, headrace channel, desander, forebay / surge tank, penstock, tailrace etc.
- Prepare a work plan and timeline for Civil, Electro-mechanical and Transmission & distribution networks, components in coordination with relevant sections and as per project schedule.
- Support in developing a comprehensive testing and commissioning plan for the micro hydro power station.
- Supervise the testing of electrical systems, ensuring that all components are functioning properly and efficiently.
- Assist in setting up a maintenance schedule and provide recommendations for spare parts and technical support.
Qualification required:
- Master's degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from HEC recognized university.
- Professional certification or ability to obtain.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in hydropower planning and development, irrigation and LRM related projects.
- Expertise in hydropower, irrigation and LRM related system design, construction, and operation.
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Familiarity with environmental and social impact assessments.
- Knowledge of international hydropower standards and best practices
