Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of LRM activities at the district level, ensuring alignment with the project’s objectives and timelines.
- Collaborate with district teams and local stakeholders to execute land resource management strategies and plans.
- Ensure the efficient use of resources in all LRM activities.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor the progress of land management initiatives such as soil conservation, reforestation, sustainable agriculture, and water resource management.
- Identify and address challenges encountered during field activities and propose solutions.
- Assist in building the capacity of local field staff and community members by providing technical training on land resource management techniques.
- Organize and facilitate community awareness sessions on sustainable land management and environmental conservation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including district authorities, farmers, and other relevant groups.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports on LRM activities to the district coordinator and project management.
- Document best practices, lessons learned, and challenges faced during the project implementation for future improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of all LRM activities conducted in the district.
- Ensure that all LRM activities are conducted in compliance with the project’s environmental and social safeguards.
- Monitor the quality of field activities to ensure they meet the desired project standards and objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master degree in Environmental Science, Forest, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in land resource management, community development, or related sectors.
- Experience working in rural communities, with an understanding of land use challenges and opportunities.
- Strong fieldwork experience, including monitoring and providing technical assistance in land management activities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Proven capacity to engage with diverse stakeholders including local authorities, farmers, and other community members.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong reporting and documentation skills
