Health and education, with a particular focus on women, are some of CARE's core identified program areas in Pakistan, as part of its Long-Range Strategic Plan.

Job Summary

CARE Pakistan requires the services of a Hygiene promoters/Distribution Assistants. The incumbent will be responsible to implement the social mobilization approach of programmes for Hygiene promotion of key messages , identification of beneficiaries for the distribution of NFIs/Food Ites/Hugiene Kits etc in line with CARE strategy to empower communities in the target areas, especially women and children.

 RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:   

1- Hygiene Promotion (50%):

  • Conduct hygiene promotion sessions in communities to raise awareness about good hygiene practices.
  • Provide regular inputs into required narrative and financial reports.
  • Distribute Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials related to hygiene.
  • Organize and facilitate community meetings and focus group discussions on hygiene topics.
  • Monitor and report on the hygiene practices and needs of the community.
  • Collaborate with local health workers and community leaders to promote hygiene education.
  • Use participatory approaches as a far as possible throughout the programme cycle, in training, and in the use of tool kits and other materials.
  • Ensure that Hygiene Promotion activities and resources are implemented and handed over or ended in a way that promotes local capacities and sustainable operations.
  • Ensure that gender, protection, the environment, and other important cross-cutting concerns are taken into account in implementation, and reporting;
  • Ensure that activities reflect theinclusion and needs of specific groups and individuals e.g. elderly people, children, and people with disabilities. 

2- Distribution Assistance (35%):

  • Identify and register beneficiaries for the distribution of NFIs, food items, and hygiene kits.
  • Coordinate and manage the logistics of distribution activities, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of distributed items and beneficiaries.
  • Ensure that distributions are conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
  • Provide feedback and reports on distribution activities to the line manager.

3- Planning and Coordination (10%):

  • Develop and share monthly work plans with the line manager.
  • Track and reporting field-level issues.
  • Coordinate with service provider teams.
  • Engage with Village level Committees members, Support Groups, and other community structures for feedback and coordination.
  • Disseminate updates and information within the team and community.

4- Other responsibilities as assigned (5% of time)

  • Any other tasks or responsibilities based on organizational and programming needs as assigned by the Line Manager.

A) Qualifications (Know How)

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Desired
  • Bachelors degree in Nutrition, BS-Nursing, LHV or MidWife (With Bachelors). 

B) Experience/ Technical Skills 

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in reporting, case studies, team management, training, data management, and coordination.
  • Understanding of WASH,Distribution of humantarian assistance, and basic concepts of Social mobilization tools.
  • Experience working with public departments, community representatives, and union council-level stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with donor-funded projects, NGOs, or INGOs preferred.
