Scope of Work

The Project Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Developing detailed project plans, including timelines, resource requirements, and milestones, for ACT's GBV projects across Pakistan.
  • Overseeing the implementation of GBV projects, including monitoring project activities, providing guidance and support to project staff, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinating with relevant stakeholders, including government, CSOs, and community groups, to ensure that projects are aligned with national and local priorities and strategies.
  • Monitoring project outcomes and impacts across Pakistan, and conducting regular evaluations to assess the effectiveness of projects and inform improvements.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with donors, partners, and other key stakeholders to ensure ongoing support and collaboration for ACT's GBV projects.
  • Developing and managing project budgets, including budget planning, budget monitoring, and financial reporting, for ACT's GBV projects.
  • Overseeing the recruitment, training, and supervision of project staff for ACT's GBV projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with ACT's policies and procedures, as well as donor requirements and local regulations, in the implementation of GBV projects.
  • Leading and motivating project teams across Pakistan to achieve project objectives.
  • Collaborating with other ACT teams, such as the advocacy team and the communications team, to ensure that GBV projects are well-integrated with other organizational initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced degree in Women's development, Gender, Social sciences , or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in managing GBV or related projects.
  • Strong understanding of GBV issues in Pakistan and internationally recognized best practices in GBV programming.
  • Excellent project management skills, including budget management, monitoring and evaluation, and risk management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.

 

Knowledge and work experience

  •  At least five years of experience in project management and team leadership in the field of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response, particularly in humanitarian and recovery settings.
  • Proven ability to assess, supervise, and coordinate technical work related to GBV prevention and response.
  • Experience in conducting needs assessments and designing programs to address GBV in emergencies and post-crisis contexts.
  • Excellent writing skills in English, with experience in developing donor proposals, reports, and strategic documents.
  • Strong understanding of how GBV in humanitarian settings, and the ability to design and implement context-specific prevention and response actions.
  • Demonstrated experience in humanitarian emergency operations, with a focus on GBV prevention and response.
  • Familiarity with women and girls's protection concerns in humanitarian and recovery settings.
  • Awareness of the roles and responsibilities of different humanitarian actors.
  • Experience working directly with survivors of GBV, using a survivor-centered approach, is highly desirable.
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong commitment to ACT's mission and values, and a passion for promoting gender equality and empowering women and girl
  • Experience in project and team management

 

Language proficiency

Fluency in English and Urdu.

Reporting

The Project Manager will report to the CSO at ACT's Head Office in Islamabad. They will be required to submit regular project updates, progress reports, and financial reports.

Duration of Assignment

The initial contract for the Project Manager will be for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability of funding.
