The Social Mobilizer will play a key role in driving community engagement and mobilizing resources to promote Family Planning (FP) services within their designated tehsil. The role involves identifying and supporting FP Champions and Mother Ambassadors, conducting mapping of healthcare providers, and collaborating with the project field staff for effective outreach to Married Women of Reproductive Age (MWRAs) among BISP beneficiaries. The Social Mobilizer will also conduct awareness sessions and community engagements, and provide regular field reports to highlight the progress of activities and challenges encountered.
QUALIFICATION
Minimum 16 years of education/M.Sc./MS/M.Phil. in Social Sciences or equivalent from HEC recognized
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years of experience in community outreach, health promotion, or social mobilization is preferred.
SKILLS
1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse community members.
2. Ability to organize and conduct awareness sessions and community engagement activities.
3. Strong organizational skills to manage mapping exercises and data collection.
4. Ability to write and submit field reports effectively.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- Serve as the key Social Mobilizer for a designated tehsil, supporting the coordination and execution of FP-related activities within the community.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure alignment with overall project goals and deliverables.
- Assist in the identification and selection of FP Champions and Mother Ambassadors within the community to act as advocates for Family Planning services.
- Support and train these individuals to lead community-based initiatives and raise awareness about FP methods.
- Conduct mapping exercises of public and private healthcare service providers in coordination with QAOs in the tehsil, ensuring accurate information about the availability and accessibility of FP services.
- Maintain up-to-date records of healthcare providers to guide service delivery and outreach efforts
- Coordinate with the project’s field staff to assist in mapping, needs assessment, and identification of MWRAs within the BISP beneficiaries list.
- Support the verification process to ensure accurate data on BISP beneficiaries and their access to FP services.
- Conduct community awareness sessions on Family Planning methods and services, ensuring that the content is relevant and culturally appropriate for the local population.
- Engage with local community groups, women’s associations, and other stakeholders to encourage participation in FP programs.
- Provide regular field reports detailing the progress of FP activities, challenges encountered, and any feedback received from the community.
- Use these reports to help identify areas for improvement and inform decision-making processes at the project level.
- Resolve the issues and challenges of FP champions in the field during identification of BISP beneficiaries.
- Collaborate with local BISP Office for any field level support
- Identify and select Mother Ambassadors from the field as per given criteria
