Position Summary:
The position will technically ensure the adherence to the standards of construction while implementation and monitoring physical infrastructure related activities in timely manner. In addition, s/he may be called upon to carry out surveys, participatory needs assessments or any other activity that may be deemed necessary. The incumbent(s) will report to Project Lead Engineer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop BOQs and design for culturally appropriate, environmentally sound, disaster resilient and sustainable WASH facilities and rehabilitation work like, hand pumps, community and Govt CPI schemes in target areas.
- Supervise all construction works related to water supply and sanitation including sanitation platforms, masonry foundations, laying of pipes.
- Supervise installation and start-up of operations of all water supply, latrine construction activities
- Prepare technical designs and BOQs and ensure that all the construction work is implemented as per approved designs and engineering standards and share with relevant government department if necessary
- Ensure storage and delivery of related materials, equipment, tools and consumables on work site and maintenance of proper records.
- Plan and supervise all other environmental sanitation activities including waste drainage Lobbing / Advocacy and capacity building of target area beneficiaries.
- Conduct monthly evaluation of program activities to determine the success of interventions, write routine progress reports and recommend changes in program activities to Project lead engineer.
- Support logistic department in procurement of construction material and ensure safe storage in community
- Handover all completed schemes to beneficiaries and line departments.
- Ensure proper documentation related to WASH and communities’ infrastructure construction.
- Design appropriate CPI schemes and Preparing BOQs for all construction work.
- Preparation of work plans for all construction works
- Prepare and submission of technical feasibility reports.
- Prepare and submission of final report of all construction works
- Report all the activities to project officer/manager in a timely manner.
- Collect and analyze the reports and provide necessary feedback to the concerned.
- Prepare field visit report and other ad hoc reports.
- Compile and submission of bi-weekly or monthly reports for all construction works.
- Any other assignment given by the supervisor according to the project need.
Qualification & Experience:
- BSc /B-Tech in Civil Engineering and Technology
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience preferably in a similar position.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or other Civil Engineering software
- Knowledge and experience in providing presentations and written reports
- Good inter-person and communication, liaison and presentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
