Job Description:

Position Objective and Specific Tasks.

The District Coordinator will be responsible for the district-level implementation, monitoring and supervision of the Weekly Iron and Folic Acid Supplementation (WIFAS) under the Adolescent Health and Nutrition Program in assigned schools. Reporting to the Provincial Coordinator, the position will ensure that all activities  including training, school supplementation, SBCC events, and monitoring  are executed according to the project work plan and compliance standards.

This position requires active engagement with district health and education departments, school administrations, and community stakeholders to ensure effective and sustained program delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate district-level implementation of WIFAS activities, ensuring timely and quality execution of project deliverables.
• Serve as the focal person for district health and education departments, facilitating planning, communication, and issue resolution.
• Oversee school-level IFA distribution, monitoring, and documentation in collaboration with teachers and school health focal persons.
• Supervise field-level trainings and community mobilization events.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits to schools and collect data using approved tools and formats.
• Ensure quality control, accurate recordkeeping, and timely submission of progress reports to the Provincial Coordinator.
• Identify operational challenges, propose corrective measures, and ensure consistent improvement in implementation.
• Support coordination of thematic days, SBCC campaigns, and stakeholder review meetings.
• Prepare monthly summaries, data verification reports, and assist in documentation for midline and endline reviews.
• Maintain close coordination with local government and civil society partners to strengthen ownership and sustainability.
• Ensure strict adherence to safeguarding, confidentiality, and data management standards.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Educational Requirements and Competencies. 

The individual holding this position shall possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project implementation, preferably in health, nutrition, or education programs.
• Experience coordinating with government departments and community institutions.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data collection tools.
• Strong communication, report-writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead district teams and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel within the district and work in school settings.
