Job Description:
To support the design, implementation, and documentation of research activities across Balochistan, with expertise in fieldwork, data analysis, and stakeholder coordination, and a strong sensitivity to GBV, SRH, and child marriage issues.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the design, development, and adaptation of research tools, including both qualitative and quantitative instruments (e.g., surveys, FGD guides, KII questionnaires).
- Assist in sampling design, data collection planning, and field-level logistics for research studies across districts of Balochistan.
- Facilitate and conduct focus group discussions (FGDs), key informant interviews (KIIs), and other participatory research activities.
- Assist with the transcription, translation, and coding of qualitative data collected in the field.
- Perform data cleaning, entry, validation, and basic analysis, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Create data visualization products, summaries, and preliminary analysis reports using Excel, PowerPoint, or other tools.
- Coordinate with provincial-level stakeholders, relevant departments, and community-based partners to facilitate field research and stakeholder engagement.
- Provide logistical and coordination support to national and provincial researchers during field visits and data collection exercises.
- Participate in and support research team meetings, TAG (Technical Advisory Group) meetings, and other learning events as required.
- Maintain well-organized records and documentation of all research activities, transcripts, and data files for audit and reporting purposes.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and awareness when dealing with GBV, SRHR, and CM topics in field settings.
- Travel across Balochistan, including remote districts, for field research and monitoring visits.
- Practical knowledge of research methodologies, sampling, tool development, and field data collection protocols
- Experience in both qualitative and quantitative research, including transcribing, coding, and analysis.
- Familiarity with data collection and management tools (e.g., Excel, Kobo Toolbox, SPSS, or NVivo).
- Strong facilitation and coordination skills with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders and field teams.
- Fluency in Urdu and English; knowledge of Balochi or other local languages is a significant asset.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and understanding of gender, GBV, SRH, and child marriage issues.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of social issues and sensitivity towards GBV and Child Marriage issues.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in research, M&E, or field studies, especially within development or humanitarian sectors.
- Willingness to travel across Balochistan, including hard-to-reach areas
- Carry out any other task assigned by the supervisor
