Consultancy Objectives:

The Moderator will facilitate and manage the sessions of Aawaz II Learning and Experience Sharing Forums and Youth Summits in Islamabad, Peshawar, and Lahore. The moderator will ensure engaging, inclusive, and well-structured discussions aligned with the thematic areas of Aawaz II, including child marriage, gender-based violence (GBV), social cohesion, and inclusion. The role will contribute to ensuring that the events are productive, interactive, and foster mutual learning among participants.

Scope of work:

The Aawaz II program works to promote the rights of women, youth, persons with disabilities, religious minorities, and other marginalized groups through inclusive dialogue and behavior change initiatives. The Learning Forums and Youth Summits provide platforms for reflection, sharing, and advocacy on issues such as child marriage, GBV, intolerance, and inclusion.

The Moderator will be responsible for:

Pre-Event Preparation:

• Participate in planning and orientation meetings with SPO and PMU.
• Prepare discussion points, introductions, and session flow aligned with event themes.

During the Event:

• Facilitate all plenary and thematic sessions, ensuring smooth proceedings and time management.
• Introduce speakers and moderate panel discussions.
• Engage the audience through Q&A sessions and interactive dialogue.
• Ensure inclusive and respectful participation across all sessions.
• Maintain a positive and professional tone and manage sensitive topics appropriately.
• Coordinate with panelists, speakers, and the event management team.

Post-Event:

• Participate in debrief meetings with SPO and PMU.
• Provide feedback on event flow and participant engagement

• Facilitate engaging and structured sessions across all assigned events.
• Maintain thematic focus related to Aawaz II’s objectives: child marriage, GBV, inclusion, and social cohesion.
• Ensure effective participation of speakers, panelists, and audiences.
• Uphold the principles of inclusivity, respect, and safe dialogue

Deliverables:

• Successful moderation of all assigned sessions during the respective events.
• Participation in orientation and debrief sessions.
• Ensuring inclusive and constructive discussions throughout the events

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Proven experience in moderating and facilitating sessions for large scale events
• Experience in moderating sessions for communities and high-profile participants
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate group exercises and discussions
• Experience and knowledge of managing and moderating large-scale events with vulnerable groups and government/civil society stakeholders
• Experience of conducting workshops with communities and civil society on gender, child marriage, and inclusion of vulnerable groups
• Proven experience of developing and delivering sessions for youth on Aawaz II thematic topics
• Experience in facilitating sessions on prevention of different forms of GBV, such as TFGBV and domestic violence
• Experience of developing and delivering sessions for youth groups on social issues
• Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt facilitation methods for youth-focused and inclusive events
