Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive implementation strategy for the economic growth component of the project, aligned with overall project goals and objectives.
- Conduct thorough assessments and analyses to inform the strategy, including market research, economic trends, and stakeholder needs.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive private sector development strategy in line with the project’s goals.
- Identify key growth sectors and recommend actionable interventions to support private sector development.
- Engage with government bodies to advocate for policies and regulations that promote a favorable business environment.
- Support the review and reform of policies to enhance private sector competitiveness and reduce barriers to entry.
- Provide capacity-building support to SMEs to improve their operational efficiency, financial management, and access to markets.
- Facilitate training programs on business development, financial literacy, and access to finance.
- Foster and support the creation of PPPs to drive investment in key sectors.
- Work with government and private sector stakeholders to structure, negotiate, and implement PPP agreements.
- Collaborate with financial institutions to improve SMEs’ access to financing options, including loans, credit lines, and investment.
- Explore innovative financing mechanisms such as microfinance and venture capital.
- Identify potential local and international market opportunities for SMEs.
- Facilitate market linkages and value chain development to enhance competitiveness and integration into global markets.
- Develop and implement an M&E framework to assess the impact of private sector development interventions.
- Provide regular progress reports and recommendations for adjusting strategies based on performance data.
- Define clear goals, deliverables, and timelines for the economic growth component, ensuring they are realistic and achievable.
- Promote collaboration between small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), cooperatives, and larger businesses for inclusive economic growth.
- Provide technical assistance and advisory services to local businesses to improve their productivity, operational efficiency, and competitiveness.
- Support SMEs in preparing for investment opportunities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and financial requirements.
- Support youth and women in developing entrepreneurship skills and creating opportunities for their participation in the private sector.

Qualifications and Experience
- Master degree in Economics, Business Administration, International Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in private sector development, business advisory, or economic growth initiatives.
- Proven experience in working with SMEs, investors, financial institutions, and government agencies.
- Strong understanding of market systems and business environments in developing contexts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
