Job Purpose
The Trainer – Computer Applications will be responsible for providing comprehensive instruction to students in computer-related skills, including Windows installation, software applications, MS Word, digital tools, website development, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The trainer will deliver both theoretical knowledge and practical lessons, ensuring that students are equipped with essential digital skills for today’s job market. The role involves hands-on demonstrations and exercises to enhance students’ proficiency in various computer applications and digital technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver structured lesson plans focused on essential computer applications, including MS Windows, software installation, MS Word, digital applications, website development, and SEO.
- Provide practical, step-by-step training on Windows installation, ensuring students can perform system installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.
- Teach students how to use key software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and other productivity tools, with a strong focus on MS Word.
- Introduce students to digital tools such as cloud applications, online collaboration platforms, and basic graphic design software.
- Instruct students on creating and managing websites using various platforms (e.g., WordPress, HTML, CSS) and teach website development fundamentals.
- Provide training on SEO strategies, including keyword research, on-page and off-page optimization, content marketing, and using SEO tools like Google Analytics and SEMrush.
- Conduct practical exercises and projects to allow students to apply their learning, such as creating websites or performing SEO audits on existing sites.
- Offer support to students during hands-on training sessions, helping them troubleshoot problems and improve their skills.
- Track and assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, and projects, offering feedback and additional support as needed.
- Maintain a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and explore new technologies.
- Prepare and distribute training materials, such as guides, handouts, and reference documents, to supplement lessons.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in computer applications, digital tools, and web technologies, and integrate relevant information into training sessions.
- Provide guidance on digital career opportunities and the relevance of computer applications in various industries.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure training content aligns with industry standards and the needs of the local job market.
- Provide periodic progress reports and documentation on student performance, feedback, and completion of training modules.
Performance Indicators
- Improvement in students' proficiency with computer applications, including Windows installation, MS Word, website creation, and SEO.
- Successful completion of practical projects and exercises, demonstrating the application of learned skills.
- Student engagement and participation in training sessions, as reflected in feedback and class performance.
- The effectiveness of assessments in measuring student learning and skills development.
- Timeliness and quality of student reports and projects related to website development and SEO.
- Satisfaction of students with training materials, teaching methods, and learning resources provided.
- Successful transition of students into digital roles, with improved employability in the computer applications field.
- Collaboration with the Project Manager to continually enhance the training program based on industry trends and student needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in web development, digital marketing, SEO, or other relevant IT skills is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in IT training, digital skills, or computer applications instruction.
- Hands-on experience with Windows installation, software applications, website development, and SEO.
- Prior experience delivering vocational or technical training to adult learners is preferred.
- Familiarity with digital career pathways and local labor market needs.
