About the role:

As a recycler for the Child-driven Climate Action Project, the incumbent will promote sustainability by collecting, sorting, and processing recyclable materials. Key tasks include gathering recyclables from various sources and transporting them to recycling facilities. He/She will sort materials like paper, glass, plastic, cloth, and metal, and operate equipment to process them into reusable products. Additionally, He/She will educate the public on recycling practices and help maintain clean recycling facilities, playing a vital role in waste reduction and resource conservation. 

Your impactful goals will include

  • Plan and implement activities in line with the CDCA annual detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) under the supervision of the CDCA Project Manager and Project Officer.
  • The position holder will teach and transfer the arts and crafts techniques by using recyclable materials.
  • Educate/train students and adult women beneficiaries on the importance of upcycling and recycling to maintain a sustainable ecosystem in their schools and neighborhoods for a sustainable future.
  • Prepare and arrange materials and equipment in the classroom for students to upcycle inorganic waste.
  • Organize exhibitions to display the works of students and help them develop their portfolios.
  • Monitor trainees' skill development, attendance, and classroom activities, and provide timely updates on their progress.
  • Ensure necessary materials and supplies are available for training sessions a detailed record of visitors and maintain a comment book for their feedback.
  • Maintain a revenue record of sold products and manage the inventory at the display center.
  • Engage with various stakeholders, including beneficiaries, art and craft centers (eco-friendly start-ups), and other relevant entities to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare session plans, participate in training development activities, and assist beneficiaries in marketing their products.
  • Monitor training activities to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, conduct regular evaluations, collect feedback from trainees, and adjust training methodologies as needed.
  • Prepare regular reports on progress, achievements, and challenges, and maintain proper documentation of project activities, including contracts, agreements, and other relevant records.

Job Specification:

Education:

  • Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Home Economics, or related fields.

Work Experience:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in the relevant area.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of recyclable materials and their handling requirements.
  • Professional working knowledge of English and local languages (Urdu and Punjabi) is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately identify different types of recyclable materials.
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet production targets.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
