Introduction:
CARE started its operations in Pakistan as CARE International in Pakistan (CIP) in 2005 and is currently registered in the country with the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and Economic Affairs Division (EAD). Since our establishment, CIP has worked across all geographies in Pakistan - from the most vulnerable remote areas to developed urban cities - to support people in overcoming poverty through creating opportunities for self-reliance. Our entire staff is locally recruited and works in accordance with the humanitarian principles of impartiality and neutrality.
INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVE
Consistent with the CIP’s culture to promote and foster a learning environment, the internship program is designed to provide a limited number of undergraduate/graduate individuals with opportunities to obtain practical work experience. Interns will be closely working with the relevant department of CIP on a full time basis, in Islamabad Office.
I. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The interns shall perform, but not be limited to, the following tasks:
• Assist the Finance department in internal/external audit by organizing and providing relevant documents;
• Maintain up-to-date grant and contract files and assure appropriate documents are available—e.g. pre-approvals, agreements, sub-agreements, modifications, correspondences with the donors, etc.;
• Data entry in FGMS A/P module for expense recording and release payments;
• Assist the finance unit in monthly sub ledgers reconciliation;
• Manage People Soft documentation digitization functions for business as usual;
• Ensure CIP recordkeeping as per the requirements, and implement operating procedures for record management.
II. Job Qualifications
• ACCA and/or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required;
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Good research, writing and presentation skills;
• Excellent writing and analytical skills; with fluency in English and Urdu.
III. Duty Station
The incumbent will be based in CIP’s Islamabad Office.
IV. Contacts/Key Relationship:
The incumbent is expected to collaborate with all CARE Pakistan field office and CO staff.
